Sunday 5th October 2014
To celebrate Silver Sunday, AgeUK held a fashion show to acknowledge the contribution older people have made to society.

The Senior models were unquestionably centre of attention after they strutted their stuff down the catwalk in front of a crowd capacity of onlookers and photographers ready to capture the excitement on Sunday mid-afternoon at West12 shopping centre in Shepherd's Bush. Whilst the matured fashionistas showcased the latest trends, the event was to fundraise and heighten public awareness of their new campaign 'We're Spreading the warmth in Hammersmith and Fulham" who's support was voiced by MP Andrew Slaughter. Their mission is to help the elderly stay warm and healthy during the winter months, which can often lead to loneliness and isolation.

Behind the scenes the backstage area was being prepped with Disney VoluntEARs organising goodie bags sponsored by Lush, make-up artists and staff helping the elderly men and woman into fancy attire, before being thrusted into the spotlight.

The glamorous event also included actress Liz Fraser, Mayor Mercy Umeh and Cllr Vivienne Lukey. It was a memorable event with attendees having fun delving into canapés and champagne.
