An enthusiastic and committed volunteer team from Wembley-based company CSP exceeded everyone’s expectation by helping to transform the front garden and car park of St Luke’s Hospice. The team were tasked with 3 important tasks that involved some hard labour, precision and some creative flair!

St Luke’s is the Hospice for the London boroughs of Brent and Harrow and provides excellent care and support in a magnificent building and surroundings. A small team of volunteer gardeners have been looking after the gardens for 13 years, however, there were two sections of the grounds that needed many people and muscle. In stepped CSP who were very happy to support this excellent organisation that had also cared for a former colleague before he passed away.

The first two tasks for CSP’s Community Challenge were to take out weeds, rubble and turn the soil of two sections of the front garden, one just by the entrance to the grounds. What would have taken the gardeners weeks to do, the CSP team managed in just half a day. In addition, they were set the task of repainting the white and yellow lines and messages in the car park.

Following lunch and a talk from St Luke’s Hospice about the work they do to support people, the CSP teams set to planting various flowers and bushes to help make the hospice welcoming and relaxing for resident and visitors. By 4pm both areas of the garden and the painting of the car park had been completed, roads swept and tools and equipment had been neatly packed away!

St Luke’s Hospice and their gardeners were very impressed with the work carried out. Jemini Shah from St Luke’s wrote to tell us, ’The team [from CSP] were fantastic and have done a great job’.

A big thank you to all the CSP volunteers for your great work!
